It's a bigger, brighter M&S at Teesside Shopping Park
Marks & Spencer opens a hugely extended food hall at Teesside Shopping Park on Monday (21st November) that has created up to 50 new jobs.
The food hall has seen its space increased by more than fifty percent thanks to an extension of the building. The 50 new jobs takes the total employed by Marks & Spencer at Teesside Shopping Park to 230.
A new continental-style bakery will be selling an extended range of freshly baked goods. Five self-service tills are added for the first time at M&S in Teesside Shopping Park, alongside an extra four standard tills for a better customer experience.
The café has also extended by a third, with more seating for customers to enjoy the retailer’s excellent food and drink.
The entire shop now totals more than 38,000 square feet, including more than 11,000 square feet of food hall.
Disruption to customers during the work to extend the shop has been kept to a minimum, said Steve Field, financial operations manager for the M&S store at Teesside. “Many have hardly noticed the work was taking place but we are sure they will enjoy the bigger range, extended café and extra space to shop in.”
Mike Clarke, Teesside Shopping Park’s manager, said: “It’s the first time one of our stores has been extended in this way, so it is a great vote of confidence in the centre and we expect M&S to be even more popular than it already is.”
The shopping park has recently invested £500,000 on road infrastructure improvements which have made it even easier for shoppers to visit the popular retail destination.
