Dave Beech runs up and down Snowdon

Teesside’s security manager Dave Beech has played a starring role in an article in Trail Running magazine this summer.

Dave was picked by Trail Running to take part in a feature giving readers hints and tips about running the International Snowdon race. He ran the Snowdon course alongside event organisers Jayne Lloyd, Steve Edwards and Phil Jones who gave him lots of advice on his training and pacing himself during big races. The course see competitors run five miles from Llanberis to the summit of Wales’ highest mountain then sprint back down.

Dave, who was called a natural runner by the magazine said that he realised that “If I didn’t rush into races I’d stand a much better chance of completing them in a better time and enjoying them more. I tend to just go 100% whenever I train and then wonder why I’m tired, but with a specific race in mind I think I would plan my training more sensibly around it.”

Dave’s next goal is to run the Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc a gruelling 166km course in the Alps across France, Italy and Switzerland. Good luck Dave we know you can do it.
